আবদুল্লাহ আল-মুতী

Abdullah Al Muti, the famous Bangladeshi writer was born on January 1, 1930, in a village in Sirajganj district. His father was Sheikh Moin Sharafuddin and his mother was Halima Sharafuddin. Muti had a keen interest in several topics of science that he started writing in his school days. However, it is his way of presenting the concepts in a simple manner that attracts readers, especially children and teenagers. His notable works are ‘Obak Prithibi’, ‘Biggan O Manush’, ‘Abiskarer Neshay’, ‘Eso Bigganer Rajye’, ‘Sagorer Rohosyopuri’. He was the first Bangladeshi writer to receive the UNESCO Kalingo Prize in 1983. Besides he had national awards like Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1975, Ekushey Padak in 1985 and Independence Day Award in 1995. He died on November 30, 1998.
