Dibyendu Palit was born on March 5, 1939 in Bihar (now India). He lost his father at an early age and took the family’s responsibility since then. His writings often capture his struggling days that become a source of inspiration for his future literary endeavor. He wrote around 42 novels, 26 Anthologies of short stories and 10 collections of poems. Some of his well-known works include “Antardhan’, ‘Aboidho’, ‘Dheu’, ‘Sabuj Gandho’, ‘Bristir Pore’, ‘Binidro’, ‘Mukhguli’, ‘Chilekotha’, ‘Alomer Nijer Bari’, ‘Sukresoni’, etc. His many novels and short stories were translated into other Indian languages. He was awarded with the Ananda Puraskar (1984), Bankim Puraskar (1990) and Sahitya Akademy Award (1998). He passed away on January 3, 2019.
